Cute Card Thursday Challenge

This is my Cute Card Thursday entry. Fran's sketch was alot of fun to play with. I had some new rubbah from Lily of the Valley that I hadn't played with yet so it went perfectly with the Bo Bunny paper from my
stash. Image is colored with Copic Markers. Felt embellishments are Hero Arts. Brads and gems came out of my stash box of extras. Martha Stewart punch was used for the borders.

Never Ending Card

I found a tutorial today while blurfin around over at Dawn Griffin's blog for a never ending card. I instantly knew I had to make one this afternoon. So I had some new Halloween rubbah that I have been wanting to use and a 6 x 6 pad of Basic Grey from last year I hadn't used yet, so I felt it was a match made in stamping heaven. They belonged together. Took me all afternoon not because the card was hard but because it required alot of thought on my part my Mojo was a little slow as well as my digging skills to find the smaller stamps I used in the design.

St Patty's ATC Swap

This card is for a swap I am in at the Shack. Images are G Studio from the Hot Spot Bin at Archiver's. The background stamp is Stampendous also from the Hot Spot Bin. I got the idea for the background from Shuggy's use an inchies on an ATC swap idea. I had been struggling to come up with a layout for this one until I read that swap. Images are colored with Copics. Background ink is CTMH.

This is for a swap I am in at the Shack. Owl is Hero Arts, sentiment is Rubber Soul. Background is stamped with a Hero Arts Cling. I used Nesties, for the image mount and it is airbrushed with Copic B02, image is colored with Kohn-I-Noor colored pencils and blender with Odorless Mineral Spirits. I haven't used my colored pencils for a very long time so I have been coloring a few images with them this week.

My daughter is a mega Twilight fan so she wanted Twilight Valentines. So here is my take on Twilight Valentine style. Background is Stampendous and then airbrushed with Copic R29, the paper at the bottom is scraps from my stash. Vampire is Stampendous also. Sentiment is from the Fiction Inspired set by Artful Inkables. Image colored with Copics.

My Lily of the Valley stamps came so I had to sit down and make Mom another card. I just love this little bear he is so cute. The sentiment stamp is Stampendous. Papers are CTMH. Prima flowers and the image is colored with Copics and stamped in Memento Ink.

This is my take on the Roses On Paper Challenge Blog's #30 challenge. They had a wonderful sketch this week to play with. I really enjoyed this card. All the paper is from CTMH out of my scrap stash. Image is Magnolia. Sentiment is a dollar stamp out of the bargain bin. I used Nesties to highlight the image and some doodles to set it off. Image is colored using Copics and airbrushed on the edges. Here is my take on the sketch from Mojo Monday this week. I picked up this Inky Antics stamp a few days ago in Valley Junction but haven't had time to play with it. My Mom was complaining that I make all these cards but never send her one. So I had to pick an odd holiday to send her a card. I can't wait to see what she says. I have also set a goal to use up my scrap paper so the entire card including the base is made from my scrap pile.

I have been very busy this morning now that my craft space is clean and organized. Working on a few swaps that I need to get caught up on. Here is one for an Easter Card swap. I didn't want to do the plain old plain old fold so I tried a new card design from a tutorial I downloaded at Splitcoast. Give it a try it isn't that hard but the measuring properly is the key.

I had another image already colored that I just had to make another card using the sketch. I love this color combo it is one of my favorites. This paper is unknown as it came from my scrap stash. Background stamps are Hero Arts and Stampablities. Main image is of course Whiff of Joy , as well as the accent in the corner and the sentiment. These stamps were part of the Fall stamp kit. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border.

Well I couldn't let the sketch go with just one card under my belt. I saw these butterflies in Hobby Lobby and was instantly reminded of the snowflake saying so I had to make a card using them. I also got a chance to play with my new airbrush. Still getting the hang of it. Stamp and saying are Whif of Joy of course, my favorite stamp company. Papers are by Bo Bunny and CTMH. I used a Hero Arts stamp for the snowflake cirlce background and Martha Stewart Punch for the small border at the bottom. Colored and airbrush with Copics. Memento inks used.

You have to check out what Katharina Frei has going on at her blog. She is hosting right now a guest designer challenge and has candy on top of that. I copied the details below for all of you to check out. I am so excited about this opportunity. I just love Whiff of Joy stamps they are among some of my favorites and most loved in my collection. For the challenge, there was a sketch to use. I decided since I have sort of been on a Valentine card kick lately to use one of the images from the Winter Stamp Kit and selected Willow with Gingerbread Heart. The pink paper with the dots is from Bo Bunny. The solid card stocks are Bazzill, my favorite paper. The small scrap of blue lined is unknown as it came out of my leftovers stash. The sticker flowers are Martha Stewart, and I used one of her border punches for the lines at the bottom, and the branch punch for the silver accents. The sentiment is Studio G out of the hot spot bin from Archivers. I used Memento black ink and then colored the image with Copics. So here is my entry. She met with teenager approval at my house and that has to give her something. So I am excited to look at all the entries so get going ladies and enter. I had a lot of fun coming up with my creation I am sure you will too. Go visit Katharina and give it a try, and if you haven't tried Whiff of Joy stamps give them a try too, the service is great, prices are good, and I think the images are some of the best in the world.

Here is my take on the bookmark challenge. It was a good one as I was really in need of a new cool bookmark. Apple and worm are Stampablities, Tilda is Magnolia, Saying is and Archiver's exclusive stamp. Paper is My Mind's Eye. I used a Glimmer Mist Pearl spray on the flowers and the paper background. Images are colored with Copic Markers, and I used CTMH liquid glass on the worm eyes and Tilda's glasses. I used this image because it reminds me of my youngest. Centers of flowers are glitter domes, which I picked up today at Archiver's. This is my take on this week's Copic Colour Challenge. You can check out all the details of the challenge on their blog at http://copicscolourchallenge.blogspot.com/. It involved using the colors YG63, R59, and C3. I had to make a quick run to town because I didn't have YG63 and of course I need a good excuse to purchase another marker. The main image is a Holly Berry House Medallion and the sentiment is CTMH. Patterned paper is My Mind's Eye and the other card colored cardstocks are Bazzill. I really enjoyed this image as it is one I haven't colored in a very long time but was perfect for these colors. I also used Y21, Y26 for the edge and E11, E13, and E37 for the wicker background. My colorless blender also made an appearance to give the highlights on the apples. The doodles were done with a multi liner.

The Cast is OFF!!

Yippy!! The cast came off yesterday and now she is just in a wrist brace for a couple of weeks. After that she only has to wear it if she plays soccer. She is totally stoked because she can play in the tournament this weekend in Stuart. Mom is still a little scared because if she gets hit, or falls hard she can break it again. Glad Dad is taking her to the tournament. I am going to be working at the ITU World Cup Tri in Des Moines. Still going to be nervous until they are both back safe and sound that night from the tournament.

GS Anual Meeting- Last One

Well they had the last anual meeting of Moingoina Council last night. Makes me sort of sad to see it go. October 1 we become the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Council. I am sure the name will grow on me, but it hasn't yet. It was an awesome night. They awarded April the Moingoina Award she will be in the last group to ever receive it. Suzanne and me received the Appreciation Pin. I almost cried when the read letters from my troop. The girls were so sweet. It was a fun night although I am disappointed they didn't give awards to all the people we nominated from South Central Warren Service Unit, everyone was very deserving.

First Inchie

This is my first inchie card. I made it for Jennie's swap on the PCMB board. I can see that these are going to get really addictive. I used Technique Tuesday's new limited edition set for birthdays. the leaves on the front are the flames from the candle in the set. Inside is a Happy Birthday verse. The layers are flower punches I use for quilling.

Toao's Peek A Boo swap

This card is for Mary's swap with her peek a boo template. It was much harder than I thought it would be to make this style of card. My first one went into the round file. But attempt 2 appears to be ok but not my favorite work. Photo two is the inside. Items used, Bazzill sparkly cardstock, image colored with prisma pencils and gamsol. Stamps are Great Impressions for the kitty images and Inkadinkdo for the sentiment. Clear glitter pen used to accent the images.

Bleach Tech from Card Club w/ The Chix

Becky taught us a new technique of stamping an image, heat embossing it then applying bleach to the card stock to bleach out areas of the stamped image. You can then color it after it dries if you wish. I left mine white in this example to bring out the design in the stamp. I love the way it turned out. The sketch I used was from www.scraproomblueprints.com and was #19 by Mary Yontz. I just love working from sketches. I also have adopted Erin's style of taking photos of my cards. I love the look of adding parts you used to create the card into the photo.

This is my last creation for the night. My muse is sleepy even thou she started late in the day. I was just certain she rode home in the car with me on Thursday night from Davenport, because of course I stopped in Iowa City and had some new stamps follow me home. But Friday night she was silent, and this morning she just couldn't seem to get jump started, but finally after the kids went to bed she settled down and got to work. I guess I am getting better everyday from my bout with the bug that has had me under the weather the last week or better. Decided the blog needed more pics, so I sorted thru a bunch of stuff tonight and walked down memory lane way too much. When I get back to SD next week I will take some of the falls while they are frozen, I still can't believe they freeze when they are running so fast. Live and learn I guess. I can hardly wait until next week vacation here I come!!! I am soo looking forward to a break. Guess I better go to bed, the pillow is calling my name. Night all!

More Snow, More South Dakota

Back in South Dakota again. The snow follows me up here every time. Had good classes this week, but caught a cold from my students. I feel awful. Don't even feel like stamping or scrapping. Just going to bed now.

Just got back from South Dakota, was up there for work. I found the most wonderful stamping store on South Western Street in Sioux Falls called Scatter Joy. www.scatterjoyrubberstamps.com I was a good girl however and didn't spend too much money, but their stamp of the month set had to come home with me. Just wanted to post quick for hitting the hay. I will post some cards I made in the hotel this weekend.

Racoons will eat pork and beans if left by a fire outside after dark
If it isn't covered it will be the one place to get paint on it when you least expect it
Ice cream sticks will fit inside a selt belt buckle and never come out again
Fireplace dampers do have to be open or the cabin fills with smoke
Don't assume all scouts know what smoke is or what to do in the event of it filling the cabin
A first aid kit is often required more for the leader than for the scouts
Boys are still icky ( thank the heavens above ) and bratz dolls are still cool
If it says RSVP don't call, if it doesn't then that means call at least once to make sure
Always sleep by the fire exit, never close both your eyes
Always place a towel in the bathroom unless you want to hear the hand dryer all night long
Marshmellow sticks can become a dangerous weapon when flaming on the end
Always carry hair ties in your pocket
Never leave home without bug spray and sunscreen preferably in that order
The trail is always longer on the way back than on the way there
Hills become larger on the way home

Well it was bound to happen sometime, like I need one more reason to be on the pc. So here is my new blog. Welcome, take your hat off, sit a spell and relax. Lord knows we all need to do that once in a while.
